The Home Access Program
Handi-Ramp, manufacturer and distributor of handicap accessible ramp products since 1958 created the Home Access Program in September 2006 in response to a demand for accessible housing resources.
The process of buying and/or modifying a home should not be as difficult as it is, said Thom Disch, Handi-Ramp President and CEO.
Disch envisioned a nationwide program that would put resources at the finger tips of individuals and families in order to make the process simple and pain free.
Since its inception the Home Access Program has hit the ground running adding new resources each month including member databases, daily ADA news, a monthly newsletter, accessible home listings and links to disability resources.
Striving to keep the program as personal as possible is one of our loftiest goals. Each and every update and addition to the site is a result of your suggestions and comments. Having a personal relationship with all of our members is something that we hope to accomplish. Featuring a member of the month in our newsletter and sending out holiday postcards and reminders are just a few of the ways we hope to obtain this goal.
Handi-Ramp’s Sales Team is also contributing to this cause by signing up our consultant members to become dealers of our products. By becoming a member of the Home Access Program, these consultants receive a 10% discount off of the already reduced dealer price.

Contact the Home Access Program
Before the Americans with Disabilities Act, people had no place to go for ramps and were forced to build their own unreliable models. Founder Kenneth P. Lovdahl, recognized this need through his younger brother Leonard, who lived with muscular dystrophy. A Certified Manufacturing Engineer by trade, Ken built the first ramp for Len in 1958, and thus, Handi-Ramp was born.
Custom ramp solutions are what Handi-Ramp specializes in. Understanding your need and creating a solution on a budget is what we do best.
Handi-Ramp works with a variety of organizations including the Veterand Administration and various trade organizations (ITA & CTE Barter) to provide ramps.
